This is the ReadMe document for the Cloud UX | Octopus app.
This document describes the user visible changes and also some backend changes and bug fixes. We recommend that you read all of the information in this ReadMe thoroughly before installing or using the software described in this document.

Version 2021.11

Compatibility notes for version 2021.11

This version of Cloud UX | Octopus must be used together with the following application versions:

Changes and new features in version 2021.11

  • Improves compatbility with Cloud UX v2021.11 (removing deprecated APIs)
  • Phrase "Placeholder Sequence" in settings replaced with "Linked Sequence"
  • Creating new stories in story folders
  • Setting "Link Story to Sequence" changed to "Save Story Id to Linked Sequence"
  • New setting introduced: "When Opening Linked Sequences Prioritize Based On Interplay Attribute"
    • Administrators can define which Interplay Attribute will be used for comparison when opening Linked Sequences
    • Separate setting for searching in /Projects and /Sent to Playback
  • Starting from this version the users will not see a warning message when the opened story was modified from other client while the story was opened in Cloud UX. Instead, the users will have to confirm the save operation if they did not have the last saved version of the story opened before starting the local modifications.

Changes and new features in version 2021.7.1

  • The Octopus story id can be automatically saved into a PAM attibute OctopusNrcsID when creating placeholder sequences (required for Burn GFX workflows). IMPORTANT! PAM attribute OctopusNrcsID must be manually created in Interplay Administrator.
  • Working with Octopus story statuses
    • Displaying all available built-in and custom story statuses for stories
    • Updating story statuses from the Story Editor

Fixed in version 2021.7.2

  • Story element's clip duration OUT was updated incorrectly when it's linked sequence was opened in the Cloud UX | MediaPlayer. Starting from this version the duration of the story element's clip will not be changed when saving a story from the Cloud UX | Octopus app.
  • Minor performance improvements

Fixed in version 2021.7.1

  • Error messages may overload the browser after upgrading Cloud UX to v2021.3
  • In some circumstances the Cloud UX | Octopus app can not be closed
  • In some circumstances the Metadata tab inisde the Asset Inspector is not visible when the Cloud UX page was opened or refreshed with the opened Cloud UX | Octopus app
  • The settings app of the Cloud UX | Octopus may miss some styling informations

Version 2021.3

From this version the name of the feature pack has been changed from octopus to traco-octopus. This change also affects all Kubernetes resources like the name of it's Deployment, Pods, Replica Sets, etc.

Changes and new features in version 2021.3

  • New setting to allow generating video id for story elements if they do not already have video id assigned
  • New setting to define the type of the created placeholder sequences. Available values: WEB_SEQUENCE or ADVANCE or BASIC
    • WEB_SEQUENCE = Sequence
    • ADVANCE = News Sequence (default)
    • BASIC = Shotlist

Fixed in version 2021.3

  • Closing a story does not always switch back to the rundown view
  • Dropdown menus for some filters and some context actions are not always displayed properly
